About Dragon Name Generator

Dragon Name Generator began as a notebook of syllables. Every campaign and every manuscript needed a dragon, and every dragon needed a name that sounded like it had been carved into a mountain long before anyone was there to read it. Random letter generators produced noise; name lists ran dry. So we built a forge.

What we make

Dragon Name Generator is free to use. Instead of stitching random letters together, it speaks seven elemental tongues — fire, frost, storm, shadow, earth, abyss and the astral — each with its own roots, cores and tails. A set of sound laws smooths every name so it reads aloud cleanly, and an epithet drawn from the dragon's temperament completes the legend.
